Keeping Others Warm
It’s that wonderful time of year – gifts, parties, food and celebration. There isn’t anything more endearing than the look of excitement on a child’s face when they realize Santa came for a visit. It is easy to get caught up in the celebration but let’s pause and look from another perspective. Un-holidayish it is, but it is important for us to realize that we may have neighbors who dread this time of year. They dread it because they do not know how they are going to pay their heating bills. This is often the situation for elderly people living on fixed incomes.
Many people in our communities go to bed cold and cannot afford and enjoy the warmth of heat like we do. What is even more saddening is they don’t know where they can go for help. If you know of anyone that could use assistance visit to learn more. Share helpful information and phone numbers with folks that can benefit from assistance.
